What I actually used in my hospital bag (baby edition)
Big life update! Now as a mom of TWO here is what I brought for baby #2! Remember I am more of a minimalist and like to bring the necessities while still maintaining aesthetics. I held off on making this list after my first because there was so many things I wish I brought instead or forgot to bring at all. So here is a list of everything I brought the second time around and was way happier! Hope it helps and congrats to all you mamas out there preparing~
announcement card
I never even thought to bring this with my first and after coming home, I regretted it ever since. I brought it with my second and was so happy I did! I took some photos of my second inside the bassinet at the hospital with this and it was so cute. Highly recommend!
swaddle
Prevent yourself the headache and please bring your own swaddle haha. I had absolutely no idea how to swaddle the baby tight enough with the muslin blanket and my husband and I had to call the nurse in almost every single time. The Ollie swaddle is really easy to use and your little one wont be able to escape this!
going home outfit
You’ll definitely want something cute to not only take your baby home in but for some cute hospital pictures! I didn’t want to bring too many clothes so I used the same outfit twice. I would recommend a newborn size and a 0-3 month size just in case!
socks/mittens/hat
Definitely loved and needed these. A newborns circulation isnt developed well so their hands and feet tend to feel cold (even though the nurse said they’re ok) I felt a lot more comfortable when my baby had these on. The mittens are also useful so they don’t accidentally scratch themselves!
footprint kit
Can you believe I forgot this BOTH times? Please don’t be like me and forget it at home. It will most definitely be the easiest time to take their handprint and footprint with the least resistance. Once you bring the baby home, you’ll get swept up and forget until months later!
comfy clothes
Onesies are completely necessary. I preferred these with no pants for easier diaper access. I did bring 2 pairs of pants for him in case he felt cold but the hospital room temperature was always comfortable. Please remember to bring a whole pack just in case of blowouts or it gets dirty from milk!
