Pumping Essentials

Everything I Used During My Pumping Journey

Breast pump

I’ve been using the spectra gold pump and honestly love it! I can customize each breast suction strength to optimize each breast’s needs. I highly recommend an electric pump you plug into the wall for highest suction strength. Make sure to go through your insurance for a free pump or a discount if you want to upgrade your pump!

Dr. Browns glass bottles

I previously had the plastic bottles with my first but wanted to try glass bottles this time. I had concerns with the plastic ones being heated with the milk inside and worried about the microplastics getting into the milk. These glass bottles are durable and give me peace of mind when I reheat the milk.

foaming bottle soap

This is the only soap I will use! It cleans all the parts well and doesn’t leave any residue. Having it foamed already helps a lot. I found the dapple soap difficult to lather and harder to rinse off

Wearable pump

A complete lifesaver. I previously had a travel pump but found it extremely inconvenient since I still had to find a private area to pump. A wearable pump allows you the freedom to roam and continue life without pause. This is essential for me especially with a toddler running around. I love the willow 3.0! It’s a bit complicated at first but once you get the hang of it, its amazing.

milk storage bottles

I have these bottles from a previous pump and honestly love them! They're secure, don’t leak, and easy to handle/clean. I have no complaints. I use these to store fresh milk and transfer them into storage bags after they have cooled and have excess milk I won’t be using in the next few days.

Milk storage bags

I have used these since my firstborn and can attest that they LAST. Pour the milk in, squeeze out the air, seal it, freeze it flat, and all done! Defrosting the bags is also easy and I have never had a bag leak or burst.

Dryer/sterilizer

I didn’t have one with my first born but I completely regret not having one after using this. It saves so much time and I can trust that it is clean and dry whenever I need my parts. I am able to load my pump parts and several bottles in the wabi. I especially like this because I can use it to sterilize other items like toys and bath toys due to its shelving system.

bottle brushes

I have tried several bottle brushes and always come back to this set! Not only is it cute, each brush set has a storage pocket and a function. Other brushes try to fit all the pieces in one and I found it doesn’t clean the bottle/pump parts as well as I would like. The bristles generate a great lather compared to the silicone ones. I do have to replace the set once every 4 months or so but I definitely think it is worth it!

hands-free pumping bra

Absolutely 100000% necessary. I have about 5 of these. It keeps the pump secure and a lot more comfortable than the strapless zip up one. It also doubles as a nursing bra but I just keep it by my pump whenever I need it
